One of our youth competitors traveled to Milwaukee on October 19th to compete in the Fuji BJJ Wisconsin State Championship.
This was Caden’s second tournament and he signed up for both the gi and no-gi brackets. The gi competition was first. He had a first round bye. He won his second match on points.
He impressed everyone in his final match with a 14 second submission!
Congrats to Caden, the champ!
Caden again had a first round bye. He went on to the semifinal and dominated to secure a win on points.
The final was a nail biter, and Caden fought hard the entire time. Despite losing on points at 2-0 and this being his first loss in Jiu-Jitsu, he handled it very well. We teach students that they should walk off of the mat just like they walked on, not celebrating and not complaining or crying. Caden kept his composure, and I know that he is looking forward to the next tournament.
Congrats again to Caden on the hardware and the fastest submission of the entire tournament!!!
